    Hello,
After a while I stumbled across this article here. I ordered the 7” display at the end of October and received it yesterday. It is version 3.
Unfortunately, the error is probably also occurring with it.
The screen only shows a few pixel lines at the bottom. it is a pity that it does not work, but also that it is not mentioned before the purchase that it probably does not work with ESPHome and the 7” display
I have now written to the manufacturer.

  • Hello @Winny
Yes, it starts in grey and then turn slowly to black .But black Screen only....
The example für Touch works (touchscreen: platform: gt911) and touchinfos available in the log

  • @Elecrow : what does it mean ? Will there be an new Version of CrowPanel 7-inch HMI that works with ESPHOME

"We're sorry the ESP32 clock is too slow, the 7-inch HMI driver IC cannot recognize the RGB signal. So the 7-inch display doesn't support ESPHOME. To solve this problem, we change the LCD panel. But the new version of the CrowPanel 7-inch HMI has not yet entered production."

  • Does the example run on someone's 7” display?
a gray screen starts on mine which then turns black. But there are no widgets to be seen

    Hello guys,
Here's the ESPHome demo for the CrowPanel 7-inch ESP32 display: https://www.elecrow.com/wiki/CrowPanel_ESP2_7.0-inch_with_ESPHome.html

  • Hello @enjoydevelopment ,
May I kindly ask did you placed the UI files on the server?

What's more, you need to modify the wifi

  • Hello,
I had exactly the same issue. There are a few things that needs modification in the example to make the display work with ESPHome:

    • Manually set hsync and vsync
    • Downgrade the ESP-IDF Framework - seems there has been some changes that makes the screen "glitch" at the bottom.

You can find detailed instructions here.
