Connecting to Elegoo Mega R3 and Switches

Hello,

I'm trying to get the Elecrow ESP32 7.0-inch display to show multiple functions that are labelled as offline, until a switch is turned on then, the the function will be shown as online.

I have the code showing it all as offline but when update the code and connect the screen to the Mega R3 and switches, the screen cuts out and and won't come back on unless i revert back to the previous code.

Just wondering if I'm missing anything, such as a wiring problem or the code being faulty.
