You guys just edited the code in the 5.0 GitHub repository and have the screen defined as 4.3in.

Display define has changed.
PS. Please read the README.md. the demo is compatible with 4.3/5.0/7.0-inch HMI. And you just need to define the corresponding screen and comment out the others.
