What’s the best way to power it?

Using USB A to Micro, it complains of not enough power.

Using USB C to Micro (these exist), it blows something on the USB hub and the keyboard and mouse won’t work (I think it trips a
Poly fuse as it recovers if you leave the device off for 10 minutes)

Is external power the only way for those?
