I just purchased a 5 inch HMI advance display and I can't get serial console to work.

I'm using Macbook Pro OS 15.1.
I used the same USBC cable to power/flash an esp32devkitc1. I tried various usbc cables.
When I use the included USBC to USBA cable I need to use an Apple USBA to USBC converter and that works to power the screen from Macbook but no serial console appears in /dev/cu.usb...

It was the cable. I swapped to a different cable and it started working.
