  I have the same issue.
  The 7 strand ribbon cable connector on the OLED module is a disaster. So very hard to operate and make a firm connection. The online instructions make it clear you have to add SW to enable the switch and shutdown functions and the OLED display, but when you follow the QR code on the bottom right of printed instructions (which have several errors because of board changes) it remains unclear to me what you need to do. They do state only needed if you are planning to run SSD, but I think it also applies to TF card only use also.
