CrowPi L laptop screen doesn't turn on.

Is there some key combo I gotta hit or is my screen defective? It won't turn on. Could've put a Raspberry Pi in a battery powered box myself for a fraction of the cost. I got this for the laptop form factor and it's useless and horribly made. What do I do with this thing now?
