Esp32S3 7” Advance panel V1.3 and V1.4 no touch screen.
I have purchased 4 x 7” Advance displays over the past three months in a couple of batches. All are DIS02170A. Using the exact same Arduino sketch 2 have touch screens that don’t work and show X and Y coordinates of roughly 65,000 on and off touch on Serial Monitor. The displays work 100% I suspect it’s an I2C bus programming issue but have not found the cause. Any thoughts if a re-flash of the firmware will help or changing the touch parameters. The other two work 100%. Any input would be appreciated.

Dear Blair,
The hardware differences between versions V1.3 and V1.4 are minimal, allowing them to run the same program. so this may be a hardware problem.
please check if the touch ribbon cable on the back of the device is properly connected and intact. Pls also reconnect this ribbon cable. Please send us a photo of the back of the board.
Here is how to reseat the ribbon connection:
a. Lift the black latch
b. Gently remove the ribbon cable from its socket
c. Examine the ribbon cable, latch, and socket for damage
d. Reinsert the ribbon cable firmly
e. Press down the black latch to lock it down
In the image below( from a similar device), the blue circle indicates the hardware version, and the black circle indicates the touch ribbon cable .

Warm regards,
Found both units did not have the connector clamped down and cable was loose. Problem fixed thanks. Both units came from the factory not secured. Thanks for the reply.
