I am continuously getting the warning "Soil moisture sensor abnormality". The sensors sits in the soil of the pot between the water outlet and the plant. It is inserted up to the marked line. It seems that the sensor gives good readings since values increase when watered. Directly after watering values increase and then decrease a bit. But this seems normal to me.

What are the reasons for this warning? I tried to move the sensor and checked the connection. It seems good.

Best regards,

Hector

Hi,
Was super excited to get this device after learning it can be controlled via Home Assistant.
Sadly I am having no luck at all with it...

When I do the initial app set up, the process halts at Step 3. The device is joined to my network, the light goes solid blue and my phone is reconnected back to the same 2.4GHz wifi but the final step fails and the app won't connect to the device.

I'm chatting with support to see if I can find a solution but nothing suggested so far helps. They'd suggested the following -

"The main reason is that our device primarily communicates with your phone and router through the TCP protocol to establish a local network. However, a very small number of routers are unable to establish this local network communication"

I was advised to turn off AP Isolation, which is a first, it's usually the other way round. I did try that but it still doesn't work.

I saw mention of using a mobile hotspot so I tried that, I used a device that was on 4G and made a hotspot from that and tried to set up the device that way but was again, faced with the same issue.

I'm also detecting errors in Home Assistant, it shows a problem with Sensors being disconnected, even though they are connected fine and reporting moisture....Without the App I can't confirm if this is a false positive or not. I'm not looking for support for Home Assitant but thought it might be relevant.

Then there is the more practical issue that is, how on earth do you position the tubing to stop water spraying all over the table? the pot is 4 inches wide so I need to bend the tubing around like shown in the instructions but no matter how I bend it, one of the holes ends up pointing outwards and spraying water over the table.

I've unplugged the unit for now, it's very dissapointing... hopefully someone can help before I have to return it (Elecrow have been very helpful about offering to take it back, I'm just keep to try and get it working first!)

How best should I recover from this state?
- GrowCube 1 in the app is displaying the plants from GrowCube2.
- GrowCube2 is not clickable in the menu. But Network reset is clickable, and I was able to successfully do that [and it knew that it was #2 because that was the one that the red/blue flashed on].
- GrowCube2 shows 3.6 firmware and GrowCube1 shows 3.7 firmware -- Attempts to click the 3.6 state that it is latest [obvi not since I can see 3.7 exists]
- My GrowCube1 already-configured plants are not visible in the app, but they are seemingly watering as I hear it go off every so often..

If I reinstall I think all my config will go away so I'd like to confirm how best to resolve this app issue..

I have been using 2 growcubes for a bit now..
I can usually just click the name in the app and get prompted to switch to #1 or #2.. now when I click on #2 it doesn't ask me.. also, I clicked #2's firmware update to see if that would do anything.. and it updated #1?!?!?
and now all my #2 plants are listed in my #1??

what the heck happened?
I would like to resolve this by troubleshooting, not un/reinstall since I am currently remote.
Can I toss a config file into a hex editor or something?

Also, I hope that the watering gets handled properly notwithstanding this bug because I have TWO growcubes with different settings on each plant -- if it starts watering based on what it thinks is #1, and it goes to #2 that would be potentially catastrophic for the plants....

I haven't had automatic watering happen yet for my 4 plants that I have set up but it has been monitoring mostly ok.. Today I changed the low percent for one of my plants that looked dry and I wanted to have auto-watering kick in.. it went for a few times I think, but later when I looked, the red light was on and the app said it was locked for 'abnormality'...
I unplugged as it said and replugged but same 'abnormality' message never cleared.

Pulling power cleared it...

Then, I decided later to change the percent on another plant.. and it ran properly for a bit.. and then choked!! Why does it keep locking??
I am trying to get this working so I can go on vaca but really am noticing much problems with how I expect it to function..
