CrowPi 1 Power diode and Screen issue
So I have recently acquired a CrowPi 1 and it included a Pi Model 3 B+. When I first powered it up with the micro USB (5V) the system ran with the exception that the OS would report under voltage. I downloaded the manual and found that the barrel jack was designed for 12v 2A. I connected my power supply with the barrel jack at originally 8 or 9 volts. The system did run for a short period of time then the screen flashed a couple of times, and the power button began to overheat and smoke. I disconnected the power and have dismantled it. In trouble shooting it the camera controller chip on the upper screen pcb is overheating and the screen no longer works. As well something has shorted out on the Pi itself as the power chip is shorting out. In checking the main pcb, I have removed the broken switch and patched a wire across it. When powering the board with micro usb the GPIO pins read 5V as correct . I then remove the micro usb and connect 12v power with the barrel jack. The 5V GPIO pins show 7+ volts and the diode D44 shows extremely hot on my IR camera. Couple of questions:
What type and rating is Diode D44 as I think it is shorted, so I can replace it ?
Would the top screen PCB still be available ?

Hi, rhaugen,
Our technical support team is currently investigating your issue. Please be patient, and we will respond to you as soon as possible.
Hi, rhaugen,
Thank you for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with your CrowPi.
1. Regarding your questions:
The diode D44 on the CrowPi 1 is SS34, with an SMA package.
2. The board on the top screen seems to be the camera module board. It should be available for purchase.
Before proceeding further, could you please confirm if you would like to purchase this PCB from us? I will need to check with our procurement team to confirm its availability.
Let me know how you'd like to proceed.
Thanks Jennie, I will look at replacing the diode and see how I make out before looking to see if I still would need the top PCB.
Regards
Ray
So I have replaced Diode D44 and it no longer is overheating. In reading through the forum it would appear that my earlier version of the CrowPi was not able to handle the recommended 12v 2A supply that I had provided through the barrel jack. Is there a schematic available to help troubleshoot the rest of the pcb ? Powering the unit on, 5V through the barrel jack, the two VCC leds come on, which makes sense. It also lights the red led corresponding to header pin 11. This is without a Pi attached to the board. I believe that I have traced the 1.3volts on that pin back to the 8 bit bidirectional level translator chip. It would help if I could refer to a schematic to determine how that voltage is getting on that line.
Thanks
Ray
