Crow Panel 7.0in Brightness spec

Hi
I am interested in the LVGL capable Esp32 Crowpanel 7.0", and I was wondering, what is the max brightness of this display? I'm using this in a potential bright environment, and want to know the candela(nits) spec of the display

  • Hello @Nasiraod ,
The maximum screen brightness is 240Cd/cm2, we recommend use it indoor.

  • I got it, thank you very much
Are there any plans to make something brighter under the same platform?
I am trying to use this in a product that would sit inside a car, so I would need it to be visible in the sun. If it had been brighter, it would be perfect for my application
Brightness around 800Cd/cm2 would be ideal

  • Hello @Nasiraod
Thank you for your feedback. In the future, we will launch a new version of ESP32 HMI, using a wider viewing angle and higher brightness screen. Please stay tuned!

  • Great, would be essentially the same platform? Would I be able to buy current one for prototyping? I would like to directly port the firmware to the new screen

  • Hello @Nasiraod ,
The new version of ESP32 HMI is expected to use a more powerful ESP32 chip

  • Great, thank you
Any idea when will the display with the higher brightness be available?

  • I am also interested in the higher brightness display. Is this product close to release?

  • Hello guys,
Thank you for being interested in the CrowPanel.

The CrowPanel ESP32 HMI display Advanced version is expected to be launched in December.
The product is currently in the sample testing stage, and we also need to make some demos, so it will take some time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Best regards,
    Elecrow Team

  • on the advance version, bring out the second serial port, SPI ports and more GPIO ports. Also a dedicated +5V input would be nice.
