Thinknode M3 MAC does not match label

I have not been able to get the Thinknode M3 to connect to TTN. Scanning my LAN I could not find the M3. Connecting to a simple network it became obvious the M3 was registering with DHCP with a totally different MAC to the label. The G3 identifies itself as espressif.home. This gives me no confidence the Gateway EUI on the label is correct, or that the G3 even has the correct firmware installed. How can I verify this?
