DIS03024H : CrowPanel 2.4" ESP32 HMI 320x240 SPI TFT LCD Touch Screen - Noise on speaker output

What can be done to reduce noise on the speaker output of a DIS03024H board? The sound quality is heavily impacted due to the boards internal interference, it seems.

  • Hi mcevylder,
May I ask if you are using our example/demo program? You can shoot a video so we can see the specific situation. The program can also be sent to us to check.
    Thanks! Have a good day!

  • Hi Jennie
Thank you for your reply. I found the same problem in a video for the same project as i am running on instructables:
    https://www.instructables.com/How-to-Make-Simplest-and-Cheapest-Compact-Internet/?fbclid=IwY2xjawJ44G9leHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETBEM2I0cjZHSzBzemFYckVBAR5JmUiShNKopWXBenSEShtXjSy40w8EimU0MusNNjKycfYxnvDR6ucBFBoSng_aem_dtWcioGiXRxXDnFEpajwkQ

Have a look/ear starting at 15:30 minutes where you will hear the cracking when switching stations. In my case the cracking is worse on my 3 watt 8 Ohm speaker. I have no noise at all with the project loaded idle on the board, noise is always hearable when a radio station network stream plays: at low volume and even at zero volume. It is acceptable when the volume is at a higher level. I understand that in high end amplifiers a relay is used to delay the output to the speakers at startup. May be you guys know a solution for these boards?
    Kind regards
    Michel

    Hi Mcevylder,
The noise when switching radio stations may be a code problem. We are very sorry that since you wrote the program yourself and we have not received similar questions and feedback, you need to check it yourself.
In addition, if the effect of playing radio is different when using different speakers, it has little to do with the software and hardware of crowpanel, but is likely related to the speakers.

    Thanks! Have a good day!
